JCV: Van inhoudelijke sessies tot gezellige avonden

Binnen de JCV hebben we de afgelopen tijd niet stilgezeten en zijn er mooie nieuwe initiatieven en activiteiten opgezet. Zo kijken we met veel enthousiasme uit naar de gezamenlijke eindborrel op zondag, waar we iedereen graag weer zien om samen de dag goed af te sluiten.

Allereerst willen wij onze betrokken alumni hartelijk bedanken voor hun bereidheid om als coach voor studenten op te treden binnen het VCV Nyenrode alumni netwerk. Wij waarderen dit enorm en zien dit als een waardevolle toevoeging aan het onderwijs aan Nyenrode. Door deze mentoring tussen alumni en studenten wordt de verbinding tussen theorie en praktijk verder versterkt, waardoor studenten naast het reguliere onderwijs extra inzichten en ervaringen uit de praktijk kunnen opdoen. We hopen dat deze pilot het begin vormt van een structurele samenwerking, waarmee de band tussen alumni en studenten verder wordt verdiept.

Een kans creëren voor studenten om ook de praktijk kant mee te krijgen vinden wij erg belangrijk daarom dit jaar voor het eerst: de Founder Sessions, georganiseerd door Van Verre Consultancy, Ondernemend Nyenrode en de Business Commissie, in het Breukelen Kasteel. Voor studenten die ingeschreven staan bij de Kamer van Koophandel met hun eigen onderneming bood dit een unieke kans om hun real-life vraagstukken te bespreken met professionals. Er werd actief meegedacht over verschillende cases en interessante discussies ontstonden tussen studenten en professionals. Deze eerste editie smaakt zeker naar meer en vormt hopelijk het begin van een terugkerend initiatief.

Deze twee initiativen sluiten goed aan bij onze ambitie om meer praktijkgerichte activiteiten en leermomenten te organiseren, waarin de verbinding tussen studie en praktijk centraal staat.

Ook buiten de inhoudelijke sessies was er ruimte voor ontspanning en verbinding. Zo hebben we een gezellige golfavond gehad bij Golfclub Birdies, een samenwerking met Club Tineke en het Dies Natalis boksgala waar de JCV de NCV (natuurlijk) dik heeft ingemaakt. Het waren geslaagde avonden waar eerste- en ouderejaars elkaar op een informele manier konden ontmoeten en die goed hebben bijgedragen aan ons doel om de verbinding tussen studenten verder te versterken.

Tot slot richten wij ons nu op de laatste examens, zodat we daarna de zomer vol energie kunnen ingaan met nog meer leuke activiteiten.

JCV: From insightful sessions to social evenings

Within the JCV, we have not been standing still over the past period and have set up several new initiatives and activities. We are therefore very much looking forward to the joint closing drinks on Sunday, where we hope to see everyone again to properly wrap up the day together.

First of all, we would like to sincerely thank our engaged alumni for their willingness to act as coaches for students within the VCV Nyenrode alumni network. We greatly appreciate this and see it as a valuable addition to education at Nyenrode. Through this mentoring between alumni and students, the connection between theory and practice is further strengthened, allowing students to gain additional insights and real-world experience alongside their regular studies. We hope this pilot will be the start of a more structural collaboration, further deepening the bond between alumni and students.

Creating opportunities for students to experience the practical side of their studies is something we consider very important. That is why, for the first time this year, we organised the Founder Sessions, hosted by Van Verre Consultancy, Ondernemend Nyenrode and the Business Committee, at Breukelen Castle. For students registered with the Chamber of Commerce with their own business, this offered a unique opportunity to discuss their real-life challenges with professionals. Active discussions took place around various cases, with valuable input from both students and professionals. This first edition certainly leaves us wanting more and hopefully marks the beginning of a recurring initiative.

These two initiatives align well with our ambition to organise more practice-oriented activities and learning moments, where the connection between study and practice is central.

In addition, there was also room for relaxation and connection outside of the more content-driven sessions. We organised a fun golf evening at Golfclub Birdies, a collaboration with Club Tineke, as well as the Dies Natalis boxing gala, where the JCV (of course) came out on top against the NCV. These were enjoyable evenings where first-year and senior students were able to meet in an informal setting, contributing to our goal of further strengthening the connection between students.

Finally, we are now focusing on the final exams, so that we can enter the summer full of energy and with many more fun activities ahead.
