I suppose everyone has noticed that our Magazine has a new Chief Editor, Oele Steenks (19720057). He has clearly put his stamp on it with new sections like Top Women and Alumni 'Van Verre'. The theme of Leadership after the Corona Era also made an impression. It was very special to read all the stories of our Alumni. It gives a sense of belonging. Also the report on the floods in Maastricht have touched me deeply and also a sense of pride that fellow Alumni just do all this.

Two weeks ago, the VCV board sat down with a number of people from the university to consider the collaboration of the VCV and the university's Alumni Office. We are in the exploratory phase of the process where we re looking at how we are going to operate together with all towards one vision and mission. We have to decide on how we are going to set up the partnership organizationally including IT, HR and Marketing policies. It is a mini change management project. Fortunately, we are working with a group of enthusiastic professionals to map out the road together, with the goal of a better experience for all Alumni. All of this will also be discussed at the next RVA meeting on November 4.

From the Alumni Office we also have an announcement; our Community Marketeer Jesper de Gooijer has found a new challenge at Vereniging Eigen Huis. Jesper joined us in April 2018 and has played a central role in launching and building the platform. We will really miss him as a colleague and photographer, but we wish Jesper a very happy career.

As always, I am happy to receive feedback on how we provide our communications and other things to our Alumni, so please feel free to contact me - even if it is good news, of course.

Van Verre,

Iris
